I am finally getting some scrapbooking done. It has really been fun to plan out some pages. In the excitement of planning our December Disneyland Trip - I felt the need to go back and start scrapbooking our big family trip to Southern California in 2009. Yes, I never got around to completing those pages. So now, I am! Pixar Play Parade | March 27, 2009 Much of our week was spent as individual families, but today all of the Sorensen Family watched the Pixar Parade together. It was so fun to watch JJ & Beth, as the Pixar characters are some of their favorites! Here's the layout I did: I used the Project Mouse Collection by Britt-ish Designs & Sahlin Studio. ... Life 365 | Week 1
Monday, December 28, 2009 Beth has really been enjoying her new dress-up dresses and its the first thing she does when she wakes up in the morning. Right now her favorite is her snow white dress. She discovered that if she stands by the heater her dress flares up and she gets the whole big dress effect - so much fun! Tuesday, December 29, 2009 We got a light snow fall today and it was just nice to sit inside watching movies, reading and playing on the computer and Wii. The kids are still enjoying all their new toys and we even had a nap! Wednesday, December 30, 2009 Today was a fun day. We woke up to a lot more snow and we just had to go play in it. The kids got to wear their new coats and boots and we went into our little yard and built our "Frosty", threw a few snow balls, ... [Read More]

Monday, December 21, 2009 Beth had her special Christmas program at Center Stage today. Joey and I got to watch her sing, dance, and we even got to see what they were learning in Karate. She had so fun and she did her part very well. They had a special visitor at the end of their performance and Santa came to visit! Tuesday, December 22, 2009 It was JJ's last day of school today and we did the final preparations for Christmas. I started doing a bit of cleaning and then we got to babysit Baby Mallory while Uncle Cody and Aunt Becki did some shopping. The kids LOVED having a baby in the house! Wednesday, December 23, 2009 I didn't get an advent calendar done/bought this year and I couldn't figure out something to do to help the kids countdown the days. Then last week JJ brought ... Monday, December 14, 2009 Today was wrapping day. Most of my shopping was done today and we began wrapping presents. I have started a little tradition with wrapping that my mom did with my brothers (after I was married and gone from home). She would pick a wrapping paper for each child and then would wrap all their gifts in that paper and then she wouldn't have to do any to/from labels/writing/tags. I thought it was really fun and so last year was the first year I did it and I'm continuing it this year! The kids like it too! Tuesday, December 15, 2009 I have new visiting teachers and they came over to visit this morning. It was really wonderful to sit and visit with these wonderful women and just share a little bit of our lives with each other. They brought their children with them ... [Read More]

Monday, December 7, 2009 I bought a Gingerbread House Kit and tonight for our Family Home Evening activity we put it together. Even with the kit - it was a bit hard to do. The Frosting just wasn't quite the right consistency or something and it didn't want to stick very well. So we didn't try to do anything very fancy - but we still had a good time. Actually the drippy frosting turned out to be pretty good icicles when it finally hardened! Tuesday, December 8, 2009 Lots of snow this week. Other than the fact that I have to occasionally drive in it - it has been really fun to have. I love the peaceful feeling of snow. Orderville got like 19 inches of snow in a day and so I know my parents are so grateful. They really needed the moisture! Wednesday, December 9, 2009 Last night was ... [Read More]

Monday, November 30, 2009 For Family Home Evening tonight we put up our Christmas tree. It's just a small 4 1/2 foot tall artificial tree, but it works nicely in our little trailer. We put it up on a storage bucket and it works great. I love blue and silver together and so once again we used the same decorations we have had for years for our blue/white/silver tree. The kids had so much fun putting the ornaments on too. And for the first time in 5 years, I put out my Precious Moments Nativity. The kids were young and I was afraid they would break them and I haven't really had a place to put it so I haven't put it out. But this year, it worked great under the tree on the storage box and the kids seem to stay away from it - and so it's there. I'm so glad - I have missed it and it really ... [Read More]

Monday, November 23, 2009 Bethie's last day of school this week and they got to have a little Thanksgiving dinner. She had way fun and I thought she looked so adorable in the little pilgrim bonnets/hats that they made! Tuesday, November 24, 2009 All packed up to head home to Orderville for Thanksgiving. JJ had his last day of school for the week and when Joey got home from work we drove down. Wednesday, November 25, 2009 My mom and I spent today doing all the food preparations for tomorrow's feast. It was nice to do it today so we could have tomorrow to just be together as a family. My main focus was to make our family's traditional egg noodles (from my Grandma Sorensen's recipe). Everytime I make these I think of my Grandma and how much I miss her. I hope she is happy where she is ... [Read More]
Project 365 | Week 47
Monday, November 16, 2009 Joey had to take off work today to try and fix things around the house and I am just an emotional wreck. For some reason our finances, the trailer, my computer problems, and everything has weighed down on me so hard and I just feel broken. I feel like I am at a fork in the road in my life right now. I'm struggling with so many personal things and I am really feeling depression/stress set in. Which way is the right way? Where do we go from here? Tuesday, November 17, 2009 Beth has really been into having "collections" lately. From rocks to leaves, she has to collect at least 10 of things to have. At least she is seeing the beauty of the earth. I especially loved the colors of this leaf that we flattened in a book for her to keep. Wednesday, November 18, ... [Read More]

Monday, November 9, 2009 It's getting pretty late in the fall season, but still there is so much beauty to be found. I am loving that there are still trees that have yellow and I'm not even sure what kind of berry/fruit or whatever that this is in the trees - but I loved the contrast of the red with the yellow! Tuesday, November 10, 2009 I can feel it. The air is getting colder and there's snow on the mountains and the contrast of that with the clear blue skies is just breathtaking. Wednesday, November 11, 2009 I have a cold and its tough to be a mom when you don't feel well. But my kids are amazingly helpful and independent when I need them to be. And they made me feel so special when they brought their toys in to play on my bed just so they could be near me while I was ... [Read More]

Monday, November 2, 2009 I love it when my kids are silly and happy at the same time! Today I was working on my computer in the bedroom and I could hear laughter coming from the living room. A second later the kids came bursting in - they had found 2 pairs of Joey's racquetball glasses and they thought it was hilarious to put them on. I quickly grabbed the camera and took a photo - my kids are too cute! Tuesday, November 3, 2009 Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed. - G. K. Chesterton I heard this quote on twitter today and just loved it. My kids love hearing stories and watching movies and just using their imagination. I love hearing them imagine and play together and I ... [Read More]
