I tend to be extremely naive about the world and actually I like it that way. I don’t get caught up in politics or much of what is going on in the world around me. I like to live in this little world that I have created for myself that revolves around my own family and friends. I like to focus on the things in MY life.
It’s not always a good thing. I do feel it is important to take a stand for the things that you believe in and really I should be more proactive about building the future. I do feel that it is so important to vote and to take responsibility for the world – but most of the time, I just like to leave that to my husband or others who are much more political than I am. I do vote and try to figure out what I believe and do my best to live it. It’s not really a good part of myself, but I personally feel so much happier when I can just focus on what is happening in my own house and trying to teach my children and being the best that I can be.
There is so much conflict right now in my country and that saddens me. I want there just to be peace and unity and everyone to come together and make the best of our situation and just try to do a little better everyday. I hope and pray that President-Elect Trump will surround himself with good people and that things can be better. I hope we all can choose happiness. I hope we all can choose to encourage and love and be kind. We don’t have to agree with others, but we can still be kind. We can stand up for what we believe in, but not do it in such a way as to hurt others. We need to do just our best to become better as individuals and as families and to live our lives the best we can and the way we believe is right, without forcing others to live the same way we do. One of the great things about our country is that we have amazing Freedoms. We can share our beliefs and we can live them and that is all we need to do to make America a better place. Focus on ourselves and our families and pray to our Heavenly Father and leave it to him to protect and bless us.
“My beloved brothers and sisters, fear not. Be of good cheer.
The future is as bright as your faith.”
– President Thomas S. Monson –
