Life 365 | Week 17

Monday, April 19, 2010
apr19Late last night I discovered that Persnickety Prints was just up the street and I had an awesome email conversation with the owner. So I prepared several of my layouts to test drive their service and sent it over early this morning. Today’s photo was actually taken on Wednesday, when I picked the layouts up. They are so awesome! Its so exciting to see my work actually printed! I’ve made it a new goal to get a few more pages done each week. JJ and Beth have been getting after me to get more pages done because they love to look through the albums and see pictures of themselves!

Tuesday, April 20, 2010
apr20I spent all morning and early afternoon in Riverton with JJ. We went to see a Rheumatologist about some weird bumps on JJ’s big toes. It turns out that everything is okay – they are actually callouses that JJ has developed by curling his toes when he is walking with his shoes on. We are going to have to see what to do about that – but everything is okay. When we finally got back to Orem, I dropped JJ off for the last couple hours of school and picked up Beth from Cody and Becki’s. Beth cried and sulked because she didn’t want to leave – she was having way too much fun with Uncle Cody and Aunt Becki. But I finally got her cheered up by letting her have a tea party on the kitchen table with some of her animal friends!

Wednesday, April 21, 2010
apr21Beth was so excited because today was Daddy & Doughnuts Day. We curled Beth’s hair all pretty for her date with Dad. Joey spent the last half hour of school with Beth, visiting and eating doughnuts. Beth made her daddy a colored tie to wear too. They were so happy to spend some time together!

Thursday, April 22, 2010
apr22Poor Bethie had to get shots today. We went in for her 5-year-old/getting ready for Kindergarten appointment. Beth was so sad and sore the rest of the day. She wouldn’t take a nap but she obviously wasn’t feeling well because she wouldn’t even move off of the couch and that is just not like my Bethie girl. For a few hours her legs stiffened up so bad that I had to carry her around, even to use the bathroom. But finally when her daddy came home – she was feeling pretty good.

Friday, April 23, 2010
apr23Spring weather is so much fun! We even got out the popsicles today! The kids loved it and they were so cute sitting in the same chair and watching a movie together. Have I said how much I love it when they get along? We also made pumpkin chocolate chip cookies today!

Saturday, April 24, 2010
apr24We had a Primary activity this morning at the church, so JJ, Beth and I went and learned about some of the prophets in the Bible, while Daddy went and helped Clark with his computer. After we returned home, we packed up a picnic and headed to Liberty Park in Salt Lake City for lunch and fun with the Mortensens! It was fun to relax and enjoy the spring weather – even though their were tons of people at the park today. We played some frisbee and football, played on the playground, and the kids enjoyed playing with Curtis and Anne’s kids and their new puppy. The kids played so hard that when we got home – we all took a long nap!

Sunday, April 25, 2010
apr25I had procrastinated getting ready for my new calling – so I stayed up very late (like 4 in the morning) and finished up some fun things for the kids to hold while we had singing time. Thank goodness Joey helped me or I don’t think we would have gotten any sleep. But I think it was worth it. The Sunbeam singing time went great and I’m a lot less nervous about it now!

For our Family Movie Night tonight we watched Batteries not Included and made mini pizzas (our flying saucers) for dinner! The kids loved being able to put the toppings on themselves! Another movie night success!

And here is my weekly layout:
week17I used my The Story of Our Lives (Digitals NSD Challenge Kit Contribution) & Digital 365 to create this layout!

Life 365 | Week 8

Monday, February 15, 2010
feb15We did some deep cleaning of the house today. It was such good weather – it almost felt like Spring. It really felt great and after being sick all last week, it felt good to get the house all clean and sterilized and aired out.

Tuesday, February 16, 2010
feb16Grandpa and Grandma Sorensen and Uncle Lane and Uncle Clint arrived today to spend a couple of days. It was great to get to visit with them. We got some KFC take-out, played some Wii and just visited.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010
feb17A busy day today. Grandpa and Grandma and Lane went to to Salt Lake City to do some shopping, take care of some business, and a special banquet for Lane. Clint got to hang-out with us all day. We took Beth to school and Clint got to play some more Wii. We then picked up JJ and Beth and took them to the dentist. Later JJ had Cub Scouts and we got some pizza while Grandpa and Grandma went to dinner with Max and Janice. I also had my Wednesday night crop.

Thursday, February 18, 2010
feb18Grandpa and Grandma and Lane and Clint left for home today. It was so nice to have them here. Beth and I did a project today for her school. Tomorrow is Beth’s 100 Days of School and they were asked to create something with 100 things. We decided to make a beautiful bead necklace with Beth’s favorite colors – purple, pink, and red. It turned out great. Joey came home from work feeling really awful and barely able to walk – another gout flare-up. Later coming up the hall to the bedroom, he gave me a scare by passing out. But he came to – pretty quickly and we got him to bed. It was a pretty awful night.

Friday, February 19, 2010
feb19Joey worked from home today. It was a real awful night and his ankle is so swollen and it is hurting him a lot. We took him to the doctor and now it might not be gout. They aren’t sure what it is. They took some fluid out of his ankle and there was lots of blood, so it is pretty scary and it was so painful. But after getting all that out of his foot – he feels a lot better. We will have to wait for the fluid to get tested before we will get answers on what it could be. But he felt better so he was able to go do his podcast tonight. We also got to babysit Kalissa all day. She is very cute and it was fun to have a baby in the house. After school, Beth enjoyed getting to play with her and feed her! She was a great little helper!

Saturday, February 20, 2010
feb20The kids like to put on “shows” for Joey and I. They are so funny. They spend tons of time getting everything ready and then when they start the show they get so nervous. Today’s show was JJ’s magic tricks (where he pretends to make cards disappear) and Beth’s Storytelling from her books. They were cute at the end where they took hands and gave a bow! I spent the morning and early afternoon at the Stake Center for a Women’s Conference where we had a luncheon and some classes. The women in our ward choir sang a song at the opening session and it was really nice to be able to participate in that.

Sunday, February 21, 2010
feb21Joey’s foot is still hurting pretty badly, so he wasn’t able to go to church with us today. I had to sing in Sacrament meeting so I left the kids home with Joey – went and sang and then came and got the kids for Primary. Later, the kids looked so cute cuddling up to their dad today for our family movie.

And here is my weekly layout:

Life 365 | Week 5

Joey is going to have to work late tomorrow, so we decided to celebrate JJ’s birthday tonight. Joey came home early and we surprised JJ by taking our family to Chuck E Cheese. JJ was so excited to be able to have his favorite food – pizza – and play games! We had a great time together as a family. We came home and JJ got to open his presents – some new scriptures with his name on them, some Transformer toys, and a Spiderman watch.

jan26
Happy Birthday to JJ! I can’t believe he is already 8 years old. I made some brownies and he was so excited to take them to share with his class today at school. He came home very happy. While he was at school, Beth and I made his cake and he loved it! Tonight he got to blow his candles out and we ate cake and ice cream for dessert. He also opened some gifts from Grandpa and Grandma Sorensen tonight – he got some markers and Spiderman coloring pages and some sweat pants. He was so excited to be able to have THREE birthday parties this year!

Ever since we had kids, Joey has been mentioning a tradition he wanted to start with the kids. This year, he finally implemented it and it is truly one of the sweetest things ever. He took JJ out on Monday to buy ME (the mom) a present for JJ’s birthday. JJ got to pick out a present for me as a thank you for giving birth and all the things I do as a mom. Isn’t that just so sweet? So JJ got me a book and this adorable Willow Tree Figurine – I think it is just so perfect!

Thursday, January 28, 2010
jan28
Beth can just be so adorable sometimes. I was doing some cleaning and trying to be motivated not to just play Facebook all day (since I still don’t have my computer back) and I came into the kitchen and she had taken 2 chairs and made herself a little bed. She’s just too cute!

Friday, January 29, 2010
jan29
We introduced the Wii Sports: Tennis game to our kids this week and I love how much fun they are having! Beth loves to dress up in one of her princess gowns to play and JJ had to get on the action and he got into his Spiderman costume! They are just so cute!

Saturday, January 30, 2010

Joey was very good to me today and got my favorite Olive Garden take-out for dinner! It was nice not to have to cook and just sit around and be lazy!

Sunday, January 31, 2010
jan31
Since I still wasn’t in the mood to cook – Joey was very nice and made pork chops and hashbrowns for dinner. It was really fun to see him in the kitchen and the food was great – good job honey!

Life 365 | Week 4

Monday, January 18, 2010
jan18
Grandpa and Grandma left today and the kids were very sad to see them leave. We’ll have to plan a trip to go down to see them soon. Since today was a holiday, Joey didn’t have to go to work. So we just hung out at home the rest of the day. For Family Home Evening, we got out the Disney Scene-It Game that Lane gave us and we had a blast playing it.

Tuesday, January 19, 2010
jan19
It’s been snowing for the last couple of days and so it’s really been nice to just hang out at home. But this is what our driveway looks like now – Grandpa finally got our van fixed and they brought it back to us when they were here this last weekend! It is so AWESOME to have both vehicles now. I don’t have to get up early and get Joey to work when I need the car. Love it! Thanks Grandpa for all your work!

Wednesday, January 20, 2010
jan20
We got out the play dough and cookie cutters after school today and the kids had a blast! It kept them occupied for a couple of hours!

Thursday, January 21, 2010
jan21
We got to babysit Mallory again today. She is just adorable and I’m so glad for the opportunity to get to be with her and to help out Cody and Becki. Beth loves to just hold her!

Friday, January 22, 2010
jan22
I finally broke down and got us a waffle maker. Joey and I are more pancake eaters, so I just never thought about getting a waffle maker, but Beth loves waffles. So I finally got one and we had waffles tonight. Beth was so delighted!

Saturday, January 23, 2010
jan23
We went to Salt Lake City today and spent time with Brandon and Sabrina. It was Brandon’s 30th birthday and so we played some Wii, ate pizza, and visited before they headed off to a hockey game. They sent us home with lots of this yummy cake from Costco! So good!

Sunday, January 24, 2010
jan24
Today was a really great day! The Colts won the AFC Championship and it was a great game! Joey and I totally watch football differently- I am pretty vocal – Joey is very quiet. But this small smile of Joeys at the end of the game said it all! We are going to the Super Bowl! Go Colts!

Life 365 | Week 3

Monday & Tuesday, January 11-12, 2010
jan11-12
I feel so lost without my computer! I’ve spent these 2 days on Joey’s computer playing games on Facebook! I just can’t seem to be motivated to do anything else!

Wednesday, January 13, 2010
jan13
I finally pulled myself away from Facebook and worked on cleaning the house. Grandpa and Grandma Sorensen are coming this weekend so we decided to get the air mattress out and get everything set up. Beth loved playing around me as I cleaned up.

Thursday, January 14, 2010
jan14
We got to babysit Mallory today and Beth loved being able to feed her. It was so fun to have a baby in the house!

Friday, January 15, 2010
jan15
So I finally got my computer back and started getting things caught up – and then it suddenly wouldn’t turn on. I had to take it back to Simply Mac again. This is so frustrating!

Joey went to do his podcast tonight and after I finished some cleaning I just didn’t feel like making dinner – so we decided to try Dominos new pizza. It was much better than their old pizza and I really love their Pasta bowls! Yummy!

Saturday, January 16, 2010
jan16
Grandpa, Grandma and Uncle Lane and Clint arrived today! It was so nice to see them and be together. We had a late Christmas party since we didn’t get to go down to see them during the holidays. The kids were so excited to get to open some more presents. Lane had our family’s name and he gave us the Disney Scene-It Game and JJ got a Thomas the Train and Beth got a My Little Pony. Grandpa and Grandma gave us food for our food storage (Flour, canned goods, pasta, etc.) and the kids got new fleece blankets that Grandma and some other little things. I made homemade rolls and chicken noodle soup for dinner and we all enjoyed catching up. Lane and Clint loved playing the Wii with us too!

Sunday, January 17, 2010
jan17
Grandpa, Grandma, Lane and Clint visited with Cody and Becki while we went to church and then we visited at our house for awhile. For dinner we went to Cody and Becki’s house where we had waffles and hash browns and visited. Aunt Becki is definitely my kids’ favorite – she sat and read them story after story!

Project 365 | Week 38

Monday, September 14, 2009
sep14
I had my laptop open on the desk and I was doing dishes. I knew I had left a water cup in the bedroom, so I went and got it and on my way through the living room, I tripped over Joey’s desk chair and the leftover water from the cup went directly into my laptop’s computer! I couldn’t believe my bad luck, I tried to dry it out and it worked for a little while with an external keyboard, but then it just wouldn’t work. I’m so sad because we just don’t have the money to fix it right now.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009
sep15
Chili for dinner and smiles all around. Beth had a Pajama day and stayed in her pjs all day and I didn’t know until after I took these photos that she matched her brother’s shirt!

Wednesday, September 16, 2009
sep16
I’m really glad that I am able to walk Beth to school. I’m getting some much needed exercise and Beth really loves it because we have that time for just the two of us. We have been talking about lots of things together and she loves that when I go to pick her up I have her favorite ham and cheese sandwich waiting that she gets to eat on the way home!

Thursday, September 17, 2009
sep17
Thursday nights are now volleyball for me and I’m loving it. I’m really out of shape and I can’t move the way I could in high school, but it’s still a lot of fun. I’m so grateful for a husband who will come and put the kids to bed so I can do this!

Friday, September 18, 2009
sep18
Today was JJ’s school’s Fall Festival. We went for about an hour and the kids got to ride some ponies, ride the swings, and their favorite – shoot off some paper rockets!

Saturday, September 19, 2009
sep19
The kids each earned a special activity through their chore chart this week, so JJ got to go with Dad to have pizza and play at Chuck E. Cheese and Beth and I went to a great park that had these fun fountains that she got to wade in!

Sunday, September 20, 2009

We baked brownies in ice cream cones and then topped it with ice cream and sprinkles for dessert. So yummy!
