Wednesday SayingZ | Waiting

{ This week’s quote }
You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming…That’s where I’ll always love you…
That’s where I’ll be waiting.
– Peter Pan –

Wednesday SayingZI am a collector of quotes/sayings/titles and I am excited to share them with you each Wednesday. I hope they will inspire you and make your day a little better! I am also creating pieces of wordart with these quotes and will be offering them to you as a freebie! Feel free to use them in your scrapbooks or just print them out for wall decor!

Life 365 | Week 24

Monday, June 7, 2010
jun7JJ and I left at 6:30am this morning to take Lane and Lance to Ogden for Boys State. It took us about an hour and a half and after we dropped them off we headed right back home. We arrived home at about 9:30am. Joey took Beth to soccer camp this morning while we were gone and she did much better than last time. The rest of the day was kind of a blur. I tried to get a little cleaning and laundry done, but didn’t accomplish a whole lot. We all took a nap in the late afternoon for awhile. And then I took the kids to the park where they played for awhile, we had a small family home evening lesson and laid on the grass and looked at the clouds. It was overcast and such a lovely day. I really enjoyed the time with the kids.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010
jun8The kids played a lot this morning while I tried to get some housework and designing done. At about 6:30pm we decided to go to the park and the kids decided that they wanted to walk there. There are lots of parks around, but they wanted to go to the park we went to yesterday, so we could feed the ducks. I knew it would be a long way, but we all needed some exercise, so we decided to do it. We made pretty good time getting there and did it in about an hour and a half. We only spent about a 1/2 hour there feeding the ducks and playing on the playground and I realized that it was going to be really late when we got home. This was a very impromptu outing and if I would have realized how far it was and how long it took us – I wouldn’t have done it so late! We started for home at 8:30 and we didn’t get home until 10:30 at night. The kids were so tired and I felt so bad. But I think they had a good time. I tried to make it an adventure and we talked a lot during the walk home. I had to keep encouraging Beth – she was really having a hard time towards the end. I really wore them out. We quickly pulled something together for dinner and then they went to bed. They were asleep before their heads hit their pillows. I stayed up to get my kit in the store and finally crashed about 5:00am.

Wednesday, June 9, 2010
jun9It was one of those days where I just couldn’t do anything right. I accidentally turned the alarm off and so I missed taking Beth to Soccer Camp and JJ to scouts. We were all so exhausted from yesterday that we just didn’t make it. I felt so bad all day. JJ’s scout leader came to our house later and gave JJ the supplies to make his Puddle Jumpers, so JJ played with them all day and it was fun to see him so excited about it! We were lazy all day and just played.

Thursday, June 10, 2010
jun10This week we have gone to the park a lot and the kids have really loved it. We went to a different park today and the kids enjoyed about an hour of playtime before we headed off to the new Winco for some grocery shopping!

Friday, June 11, 2010
jun11Joey and I got to go on a date tonight and Aaron came over to babysit the kids. We joined Curtis and Anne and we had dinner at Olive Garden and went to see the new Karate Kid movie! It was really good and I enjoyed being able to have some time away!

Saturday, June 12, 2010
jun12I picked up another beautiful basket of fruits, vegetables, and tortillas from Bountiful Baskets this morning. It was really rainy weather, so JJ’s T-ball game was canceled so we just hung out all day at home.

Sunday, June 13, 2010
jun13Today for family movie night – we watched “The Three Amigos” and had chicken burritos for dinner.

And here is my weekly layout:

Life 365 | Week 12

Monday, March 15, 2010
mar15I spent the day lounging in my motel room with take-out food, hot shower, a book, and my computer. I did a lot of thinking, resting and playing. It was wonderful. Meanwhile, Joey and the kids got to go to a play based off the children’s book, “If you give a Mouse a Cookie.” The kids LOVED it. They also went to school and then enjoyed an evening with Joey. I’m so grateful for such a great family!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010
mar16I came home at 5am. I was ready to be with my family. It was a busy day with laundry and cleaning up the house from being away.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010
mar17Happy St. Patrick’s Day. I discovered last night that I didn’t have anything Green for Beth to wear. The only thing we had was a yellow stripe shirt that did have some green in it. So we went with yellow-green and I made Beth a green bead necklace and beads for her hair. She was so excited to be so decked out for school! JJ and Beth had a great time at their fun St. Paddy day activities. I spent the day busily trying to get some things done – like getting my van inspected (didn’t pass) and trying to find a side marker lense for an old van. Hopefully we can figure something out. Joey was able to work from home today because his foot was hurting pretty badly. It was nice to have him around!

Thursday, March 18, 2010
mar18Beth has been on a puzzle streak lately and we only had 1 puzzle in the house. So today we took a trip to the store and found some puzzles. A big horse one and a Disney puzzle collection that had 8 puzzles in it. JJ, Beth and I spent hours today on doing this 550 piece puzzle. The kids went to bed and it still wasn’t done, so Joey and I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning getting it finished. Silly us – but it was worth it in the morning to see how excited Beth was!

Friday, March 19, 2010
mar19Joey came home a little early today and treated us to ice cream at a fairly new shop here in Orem! It was a lot of fun – it was self-serve and you could get your choice of flavor(s) of yogurt/ice cream and they had all these bins of toppings that you just could add whatever and you paid by the weight. Yummy! Afterwards, Joey went to do his podcast and the kids and I had a quiet night at home.

Saturday, March 20, 2010
mar20JJ and Joey spent the day finishing up their Pinewood Derby Car. They had to get it weighed and handed in tonight and so they had to get it done. I think it turned out great. JJ was so excited to get to help. Beth did some puzzles and played while I worked on my computer for most of the day. We went out to eat at Training Table for dinner and it was really great not to have to cook!

Sunday, March 21, 2010
mar21After church and naps, we decided to go to Chuck-a-Rama for dinner – they have lots of great comfort foods on Sundays so it was nice. We came home and since it was already almost bedtime we needed something kind of short for Family Movie Night. We decided to watch a part of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, since we are reading it. We watched up to when the kids meet the Beavers – since that is where we are in the book right now. I think it really helped the kids to comprehend the book better.

And here is my weekly layout:

Project 365 | Week 44

Monday, October 26, 2009
oct26Tonight for Family Home Evening we carved pumpkins – well actually “I” carved the pumpkins and the kids watched. I have never actually carved pumpkins with my kids – so this was a first and very successful might I add! I was pretty proud of the cute little faces that I was able to make, complete with eyelashes for Beth’s GIRL PUMPKIN! I’m only sad that Joey had to work late and didn’t get to do it with us!

Tuesday, October 27, 2009
oct27The season’s first snow fall came today! It didn’t stick to the ground but it was still beautiful and I was very content to just stay in the house with the kids and watch movies – perfect weather! Love it!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009
oct28Beth’s school portraits came today and they really did turn out very cute! The photographer had fun little accessories for them to use like hats, tutus, feathers and phones. Beth still talks about that day and how fun it was.

Thursday, October 29, 2009
oct29The kids were so excited today because tomorrow is their Halloween parties at school. I let them put their costumes on and they wore them all evening! Halloween is coming!

Friday, October 30, 2009
oct30Today was so fun for the kids! Joey, Beth and I went to JJ’s school to watch JJ’s costume parade and then we took Joey to work, so that I could have the car to take Beth to school. They each had such a great time at their school parties and they got to wear their costumes ALL DAY! We took some fun photos outside when they got home and even though I couldn’t get a good one of them together – I was very happy with the ones I got individually! JJ was Spiderman for the 3rd year! Hopefully we do something different next year – but he still loves it so I guess that is all that matters. Beth was a princess riding a unicorn and I couldn’t have gotten a more perfect costume for her – she loved it! She named her unicorn “Sarah”, which is her favorite name in the world – she has a lot of other stuffed animals named Sarah too! So fun!

We also spent the evening with Pete, Brandon, Sabrina, and Kalissa – since they came down for Raquetball and the Podcast – I made dinner and we just enjoyed visiting and being together – really a great time!

Saturday, October 31, 2009
oct31I think this has been my favorite Halloween season EVER! The kids excitement really has made it so fun for me. Today was just kind of an easy day – since the kids did most of their celebrating yesterday. We did take them over to the mall for trick or treating and they had a good time and we were only gone for about an hour. We went home and lit the Pumpkins, had a fun dinner of Hot Dogs wrapped in dough to look like a Mummy and Salad and Mummy Rice Krispie Treats and the kids had fun handing out candy to trick-or-treaters!

Sunday, November 1, 2009
nov1Joey and I were sick today – we woke up just feeling awful, so we didn’t make it to church. We spent the day just relaxing and trying to catch up on sleep and getting over our colds. The Colts won again so it was fun to watch that as well, since Sundays are football days in our family. I also spent some time designing on the computer. Joey and the kids finished the day by watching 1776 on tv. JJ didn’t make it very long and was put to bed and when I went to check on Joey and Beth – this is what I found. Is there anything better for a little girl than falling asleep in her daddy’s lap? So cute!

Project 365 | Week 26

Monday, June 22, 2009
jun22

What a crazy week! I have a kit that I am working on that just never seems to be done no matter how long I spend on it. I’m trying so hard to finish it by next Monday and it is taking me every minute I have. I think I’m in for a lot of late nights this week!

I went outside to check on the kids this afternoon and I found them in the midst of a new game. Beth gets in the wagon (tipped sideways) and JJ runs around in a circle spinning her – They were both laughing so hard and having such a great time that I just didn’t have the heart to stop them – even though it is not the safest of activities!

Tuesday, June 23, 2009
jun23

Our summer schedule is CRAZY! We are up earlier than when the kids were in school and with me staying up longer to finish some design work – I am really hating the early mornings. But JJ’s summer school is just earlier so we have been doing it. I went in the kids room today because they were playing and I hadn’t heard a peep from them and here they were just completely zonked out. I think the early mornings are getting to them too – they hardly ever take naps!

Wednesday, June 24, 2009
jun24

The kids have a new way to eat their Spaghetti. Last night they thought it was so funny that I took my garlic bread and put spaghetti in it. Tonight when we had Spaghetti for leftovers, they just had to try it too. The “Spaghetti Sandwiches” are a hit!

Thursday, June 25, 2009
jun25

This dinner is one of the best rated in my kids’ opinion. While some nights it is a struggle to get the kids to eat – whenever I make this the kids go back for 3-4 servings! Deli Ham Slices on the bottom, Creamy Mashed potatoes topped with Cheese – baked in the oven for 20 minutes! EASY AND YUMMY!

Friday, June 26, 2009
jun26

The kids goofed around all day. JJ got out his LeapYear Alphabet and played that all day with Beth spinning in one of her dress-up gowns!

Saturday, June 27, 2009
jun27

We were able to attend a BBQ at a friend’s house tonight. Their backyard was right by the West Valley Fair going on and we visited and had great food. We had also had AMAZING views of a gorgeous sunset and the fireworks!

Sunday, June 28, 2009
jun28

We carried on our Sunday tradition of watching a movie together. The kids snuggled with their Unicorn/Horses and we watched THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER!

Project 365 | Week 9

Monday, February 23, 2009
feb23
So I finally took the kids to the doctor today – I figured this had gone on long enough. Turns out both of them have Bronchitis. So we got some medicine and the doctor said they could go to school tomorrow. I’m so looking forward to having my kids back. They have been really irritable and understandably. JJ really digresses in his behaviors and other development and it’s been not good the past couple of weeks. It worries me a lot and I hope it is just that he is sick. We’ve got to get us all well before our California trip!

Tuesday, February 24, 2009
feb24
The kids went back to school today. They are still coughing quite a bit, but it seems a lot better! So hopefully we are on the mend. It was an incredibly nice day today. It is starting to feel like Spring. The kids and I went on a little walk and caught pictures of the sunset.

Wednesday, February 25, 2009
feb25
I got this little note in JJ’s backpack today. I thought it was really sweet. And even better, JJ actually read this little book to us! It was so neat to hear him actually read! Sure it was a tiny book and very easy words – but it was still amazing to see him read! JJ also got an award yesterday from the school. I helps out in his classroom quite a bit with the other kids – so this was really neat!

Thursday, February 26, 2009
feb26
The kids were pretty good to each other today, which always is a plus. I had gotten a lot of sleep last night – I actually went to bed early Wednesday night (eight hours asleep – that never happens), so I got a lot more done and I was even able to catch (on camera) the kids giving each other kisses!

Friday, February 27, 2009
feb27
Beth is really getting into looking at books and especially the pictures. We got out our huge Animal Encyclopedia today and Beth pored over the pictures. She really loves animals so this was really fun for her. I really need to read to her more. I haven’t made it a real priority and I need to do that. She loves stories and I think we could definitely have a big reader on our hands in a couple of years!

Saturday, February 28, 2009
feb28
The countdown to our California Trip has begun! The kids and I made a paper chain today – only 23 days to go. With all the things I want to accomplish before then – I just know it’s going to be here before we know it. I’m really excited about this trip!

We had Cody & Becki over for dinner tonight. I made Chicken Enchiladas with Tater Tots, Salad and Cream Puffs and Chocolate Pudding for Dessert. It was yummy and we were able to have a great chat with them, which was really great. I feel really grateful to be a part of their lives, even in a small way. It’s nice to have some family close to us and the kids love them! Plus it’s always great to have a conversation with adults once in a while! LOL Becki had made a Countdown Paper Chain for us too, so now we have two – which is actually even better because now the kids don’t have to fight over who gets to tear the paper off every night – they will each have their own!

And here’s my Week 9 Layout:
